Stages in a Relationship
- STAGE 1: MEETING - This is the first time that the both of you will actually see each other. It will all start with one thing and end up with the both of you having a comfortable time talking. It’s like you have known each other for quite a long time now.
- STAGE 2: CHASE - Some people say that this is the best part. You get to know more about the other person after a series of dates. This is where you answer a “yes” or a “no”.
- STAGE 3: HONEYMOON - When you’re officially a couple, the both of you can do everything. This stage provides that. It is where you can show your affection to your partner and use the pronoun “us”.
- STAGE 4: COMFORTABLE - Being comfortable isn’t necessarily bad. It is where you can be yourself and just show it but it depends on what will you do with that comfort. Some use it positively, helping the relationship grow. Others use it to create distance. You take each other granted or people changing over time. Bottom line is, someone stops trying. The feelings aren’t as strong as before.
- STAGE 5: TOLERANCE - Excuses build up and it can get very disappointing. It can happen gradually and you won’t see it coming. Arguing is one thing but feeling unhappy and dissatisfied with the relationship is another.
- STAGE 6: DOWNHILL - The effort to try and make things work isn’t worth it anymore.
- STAGE 7: BREAKING UP - Thinking that ending it is what’s for the best. The change will be so drastic that you probably wanted to get back right right away just to restore what is missing.
